How to Utilize Bubble Wrap

If you’re looking to ship out items that need a little bit more padding, then look no further than bubble wrap. This ships items so that they arrive in one specific way.

This combination is a great way to make sure that the items stay intact during the journey. To figure out why it’s good, and how to use it, then look at the guide below.

Why Bubble Wrap is Ideal

Bubble wrap is great because it protects pretty much anything from getting broken, including China, glassware, and other items.

If you shake packages, the fragile items might break if not protected. Bubble wrap is a type of similar material that offers a cushioning that absorbs the shock, and also distributes the impact force, stopping the item from absorbing this, and protects this from harm

This can make a huge difference on the effectiveness of the material. The wraps from different bubble sizes tend to be better for less fragile and smaller items, and you need a thinner cushioning layer.  But, if you use smaller bubbles, you’ll be able to add a layer while also being flexible.

Larger sizes are great for shipping stuff that’s large and fragile, offering more space for compressing the air, absorbing the impact drop, along with the bumps that come during shipping.

How to Use This

Now that you know what bubble wrap is used for, here is how you can use this to protect it.

First, gather the supplies that you need, including tape, scissors, and also the bubble wrap that you plan to use. Take some time to look at the different sizes of this wrap, to make sure that there’s more than enough bubble wrap to accommodate the item, since you’ll have to provide more protection.

If the items are small, use a bubble wrap in order to secure this, and try to also consider multiple layers. For larger items, use the bubble wrap with a larger bubble, as this will offer a better, more rigid support when shipping.

Then, you want to wrap the item with the first layer of bubble wrap.  You want to lay it out directly onto the surface, then cover the item with some bubble wrap. Make sure that there aren’t any gaps, especially if the item that you’re putting in there is fragile. Then, once that’s there, secure this with an initial layer of tape in order to maintain that first layer.

Next, wrap the second layer. Get a second layer that’ll cushion and absorb the shock that’s there. This is great for ceramic items, as they’re likely to break when they’re in transit. Secure this around the middle portion, flattening any parts that’ll stick out, in order to ensure that there aren’t any further weaknesses in the layers that are there and protected.

Then, take the item and put it within a shipping box. Try to keep the box the same size of the item, reducing the free space, and so that the items that are small do move around and don’t bump too hard against each box side.

Fill out any further empty space with the correct packaging material. While bubble wrap is great for protection, you are able to reinforce this by adding more filler to protect this. Kraft crinkle paper is a good way to handle this.

This is the best way to ensure that your  product is protected, and with bubble wrap, you get a chance to do this sort of thing easily.  You’ll be able to protect the item, and if you wrap it tightly, it will stay.
